Possible causes
- Incorrect pressure switch setting or failed diaphragm.
- Burnt, loose or contaminated electrical contacts.
- Blocked pressure port or faulty unloader valve.
- Incorrect amp rating for the compressor motor.
- Receiver pressure, non-return valve or safety valve fault.
Checks before replacing the switch
- Isolate power and depressurise the receiver safely.
- Confirm the compressor pressure gauge is accurate.
- Inspect wiring, terminals and contact condition.
- Compare switch rating to the motor and compressor nameplate.
- Check the unloader line and non-return valve.
